Black wheat looks almost the same as regular wheat until you break it open — the darker bran is where most of its natural anthocyanin content sits, the same pigment that gives blueberries and purple cabbage their colour. NITARA Black Wheat Daliya takes that grain and cracks it coarsely using air-crushed processing, a low-heat method that keeps more of the grain's natural texture intact compared to conventional high-heat milling.
Daliya (broken wheat) is a staple across North Indian kitchens — cooked as a savoury khichdi with vegetables, a sweet porridge with milk and jaggery, or a simple upma for breakfast. The black wheat version works the same way in any of these, with a slightly nuttier taste and a heartier bite than regular daliya.
How people usually use it: Cooked into daliya khichdi, milk porridge, or upma, the same way as regular broken wheat.
Good to know: No added preservatives; processed using air-crushed technology to retain natural texture.
